Last week we had lots of rain and storms. We had great big hail stones pound down - Master D and his daddy ran outside to collect them :-) Then during the night we had some fantastic lightning so husband and I opened up the curtains during the storm and watched the show.
So because of the rain we were busy doing arts and crafts inside. My favourite of the week was resist painting.
We used proper box canvases and good acrylic paint. For one I put a masking tape 'D' on the canvas and for the other Master D put tape randomly about. Then he got painting. Little Miss Q loved watching :-)
This is before taking the tape off:
And the end result! I love how the 'D' turned out!!
Warm wishes, Kelly
Neat idea. They turned out great. (Found you through a linky party)
ReplyDeleteLove this! Perfect for those rainy, snowy, winter days in our future!
ReplyDeleteHow fun!! A great inside project for the bad weather. Hope all is well with all of you!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I wonder if it would work with water colors wet on wet painting as well! Will have to try it soon. Thank you for the idea!

I love the resist D. It would be a great decoration for a bedroom!
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't get better than tape and paint!! Very fun...
ReplyDeleteI'm just getting caught up on my blogging and imagine my surprise to find this lovely honor. Thank you so much for linking me.
Blessings, Debbie
Love this idea! The colors are so bold and pretty. We did tape resist with water colors http://www.messforless.net/2011/11/watercolor-art-you-cant-resist.html and the kids loved it. Visiting from Adventures in Mommyland.
ReplyDeleteI have to say, I think your paintings look wonderful even BEFORE you take the relief tape off!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing on Kids Get Crafty!

ReplyDeleteBeth =-)
Wow these are fantastic - right I am off to buy some cheap canvases. I haven't tried Goblin with real acrylic paint (he makes enough mess with poster paint) but I might just risk it if those are the results.
ReplyDeleteOoh, fun. I think if I were a kid, I'd think it was kind of like a magic trick.:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your lovely comments, they were great fun to do :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome!!! A great "stay inside" activity :)
ReplyDeleteI'm your newest GFC follower :)
